Imagine a conservative, mens only, dusty restaurant from history, that was Locke-Ober. In 1862 it catered to an exclusive but limited clientele. Thankfully it is 2017, because Yvonne’s has accomplished an amazing feat of reinterpreting the supper club and breathing new life into a forgotten Downton Crossing establishment. The beauty of Yvonne’s is the rich architectural features like tile floors, carved wood and plaster work. This has all been restored and harmoniously fused with modern furnishings, glamorous crystal chandeliers and a library room with whimsical artwork. The space has several rooms to get lost in and enjoy. Yvonne’s features a globally inspired menu which changes seasonally. The cocktails are more consistent and each better then the next. The have great service. The atmosphere is luxe and energetic. While it is very popular its larger size means a table could be within your grasp. You also have the option of holding court at one of the bars. Keep in mind that the front of Yvonne’s a exactly that a front. The restaurant is disguised as a somewhat defunct hair salon, but once you “work your way in” you will see a bustling world of fabulous people.
